Booking Policy

  • The prices quoted above do not include cleaning except for stays of three nights or more. The chalet is yours to maintain during your stay. If DAILY housekeeping is your desire, please enquire about the rates and request well in advance of your stay.
  • Cleaning:
Full cleaning is included in stays of 3 nights or more and offered at the rates posted above for 1 or 2-night bookings. What does full cleaning mean? The chalet is yours to maintain during your stay and there will be no housekeeping until your departure, except in the case of hot tub maintenance (see 'hot tubs' below). Your responsibility: to leave the unit(s) in a state of general tidiness - (dishes cleaned and returned to the cupboards, items put back in their place and excessive stains or spills tended to as they occur, as examples) - and we take care of the rest. Failure to maintain reasonable cleanliness will result in forfeiture of all or part of your security deposit.
Self-cleaning: In addition to general tidiness, you will also be responsible for leaving the suite in a condition suitable for re-letting. Duties might include but not be limited to washing and drying your linens and towels, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens and washing or vacuuming floors, securing garbage in the outside bin and taking your recycling with you. By choosing the self-cleaning option you will save the full cleaning fee. In our experience, the best way to tackle the linens and bed-making is to launder each room's bedding together and then put it back on the appropriate beds. This works well if there are at least 3 or 4 people staying at the chalet for the day (not skiing) to help with bed making because you save time by not having to sort, fold and re-package the clean linens and return them to their appropriate room. If you only have one or two people staying behind, the best method is to instruct everyone to strip their bed when they wake, remake it with the spare linens from the closet, and bring their dirty linens and the plastic zippered case from the closet down to the laundry machines where the assigned person/people can fold the clean linens and return them to their appropriate zippered case as indicated by the embroidered labels on the linens and penned label on the case. Laundering all the linens will take the longest time and you should start this as soon as you wake up in the morning or you will be late checking out. Once you have finished laundering the linens you used, simply return the zippered cases to the room that they belong as indicated by the labels on the shelves.
  • Included in the price are linens and towels.
  • Check-in is any time after 4pm, Check-out is by 11am unless you choose to clean the chalet yourself, then it is 2pm. (If you check-out late, Check-Out fees will be applied unless prearranged).
  • No smoking.
  • Pets, if permitted, are only allowed in the lower unit. Pets are never to be left in the chalet unattended. Pets must be mentioned during the booking process and are approved on a case by case basis. Sorry, we do not accept cats.
  • All prices are quoted in Canadian dollars, and are subject to tax
  • Cheque, money order, cash, major credit cards (through PayPal) or PayPal deposits accepted.
  • A 25% booking deposit is payable at time of booking, and is non-refundable. The balance is due 45 days prior to arrival. Non-payment by the due date will be treated as a cancellation and the Owners (Chateau Cona) may re-let the property.
  • Cancellation: All applicants are advised to take out personal cancellation insurance. Any request to cancel a booking must be sent in writing to the Owners. Email is sufficient. Once full payment has been received and a booking is cancelled in writing, the Owners will offer the property for rent and will use whatever means considered reasonable to re-let the property for the period booked. If the Owners are successful the applicants will be refunded the difference between moneys that have been paid (the 25% deposit is non-refundable in ALL cases) less the sums receivable for the re-letting after the deduction of all costs and expences incurred by the owners.
  • No refunds will be made for unused days.
  • The person booking the chalet and therefore accepting responsibility for the rest of the guests, must be 30 years of age or older, and MUST be staying in the chalet for the entire length of the reservation. Any reservations made under false pretences will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment of rent, and the party will not be permitted to check-in, or the party will be required to leave.
  • A pre-authorization of $600 on your Visa or Mastercard is required as a security deposit. We will contact you close to your arrival to collect your credit card number and will run a preauthorization. If all is well upon your departure the preauthorization expires and nothing is charged to your credit card. We essentially reserve the space on the credit card in the event that we need to charge damages/cleaning to it.
  • This credit card will be held against:1) Loss or damage during your stay. 2) Additional cleaning charges if the property is left in an unsatisfactory condition (ie, sticky tile floors, stains on carpets, walls need cleaning etc). 3) If the chalet rules/rental agreement are not adhered to. 4) Late check-out (unless prior arrangements have been made).
  • Hot Tubs: Hot tubs require significant attention on our part in managing pH and maintaining water quality in order to ensure that your hot tub experience is a good one. If your stay is longer than 3 or 4 days or if recent balancing showed a little volatility in pH and therefore requires some fine tuning, it may be necessary for Chateau Cona to test water quality during the course of your stay, possibly as often as every day. It is your responsibility to shower prior to using the hot tub so that bacteria levels remain under control in the 3 or 4 days prior to subsequent balancing. We may leave you with some minor maintenance instructions if necessary, in order that chemical balances remain reasonably in check in the hopes of avoiding a fresh fill following your stay. Please follow them to the letter.
  • HOT TUB RULES: The tenant agrees: That the hot tubs are closed every evening at 11:00pm; for safety reasons, when the hot tub is not in use, to ensure the cover is replaced and secured by the locking mechanism; that no one use the hot tub under the influence of alcohol or drugs; that glass items are not taken to the hot tub; that no one stands on the edge of the hot tub or deck railing; that no food is taken to the hot tub; to shower before and after using the hot tub; to ensure children under 16 are supervised by an adult; that no one sit, lay or stand on the spa cover; and TO BEHAVE IN SUCH A MANNER AS NOT TO DISRUPT THE ENJOYMENT OF OTHER PEOPLE STAYING IN THE NEAR VICINITY OR PREJUDICE THE REPUTATION OF THE OWNERS OF THE PROPERTY. The holiday of any guests in breach of this clause may be terminated immediately and without further compensation or any further obligation. Any damage to the hot tub arising out of misuse or as a result of negligence and/or failure to follow the instructions herein, will be chargeable to the guest. A $100 charge will be made if the hot tub water has to be changed due to these conditions not being adhered to. Please note: The owners will do everything possible to provide the hot tub. Sometimes, due to unforseen circumstances, this may not be possible. If this is the case, no compensation will be provided. Users of the lower unit hot tub can expect to share the hot tub with the Owners and the Owner's guests who may occupy the basement at any time.
  • SMOKING POLICY: smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises (this includes the decks as it can disrupt the enjoyment of others using the premises). We suggest smokers take a walk before lighting up. Failure to respect this is grounds for termination of any holiday. Sorry, zero tolerance due to allergies.
  • Out of respect for your neighbours please keep noise and music to a minimum after 11:00pm.
  • GEAR STORAGE: GEAR IS NOT PERMITTED INSIDE THE MAIN CHALET. Storage space is provided in the mudroom entrance. If you are not satisfied with this arrangement then your vehicle is your best option. Damage to the chalet from ski gear being brought inside will be deducted from your deposit.
  • The Owners reserve the right to repossess the property at any time where damage or nuisance has been caused by the tenant or any member of the party. In such an event, the Owner shall not be liable to make any refund whatsoever.
  • Chateau Cona is not responsible for road conditions, weather conditions, snow or trail conditions, Mount Washington Alpine Resort issues or closures, power or utility outages and the like.
  • Chateau Cona reserves the right to make changes to this booking policy at any time.
